Committed to North Carolina State out of Heartland CC (IL). 

4/13/17 - Heartland CC recruit. 6-foot-2, 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder, lanky athletic build, high level of projection in frame. Currently ranked No. 129 in Illinois’ 2017 class. High-level defender in centerfield, moves with fluidity, long easy strides, good reads off the bat. Offensively, has loose athletic hands, generates bat speed, long path with some sweep. Runs well, 4.22 down the line on a double play; 6.78 60 time at previous PBR event. Overall high-ceiling potential, should be high follow out of Heartland CC.

8/9/16 - Ranked No. 120 in the Illinois 2017 class. 6-foot-2, 175 pound, lanky, athletic outfielder. Ran one of the top 60 times of the event, 6.78. Offensively, left-handed hitter, uphill path, pull approach, flashed bat speed; exit velocity clocked at 88 mph. Tall, balanced setup, short stride, loose hands. Defensively, fluid footwork, quick exchange, athletic actions. Flashed a long, loose, accurate arm from a high ¾ arm slot; throws clocked at 78 mph from the outfield.

2/14/16 - 6-foot-2, 165-pound outfielder, lanky athletic shape, long legs. Left-handed hitter, tall setup, minimal loading action, short stride, average balance. Simple approach, keeps things quiet. Path is short, opposite field contact, 78 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm action is long, high ¾ slot, 79 mph from the outfield. Deliberate approach to the baseball 7.04 runner in the 60.

6.21.15 - 6-foot-2, 195-pound lean and athletic left-handed hitting centerfielder, impressed defensively and at the plate on day one of the PBR+ 16U Invitational. In game one made a running over the shoulder catch in center field. Also did the same thing on Saturday’s first game, gets good jumps on balls, glides in the outfield. Hits from a balanced, spread out stance, short stride, loose hands, level, flat bat path, once he starts using his legs more could develop power, ball jumped off bat on triple to center field in second game on Friday. Currently ranked No. 95 in Illinois’ 2017 class. High follow with high ceiling. Also a standout basketball player, brother of Jake Butler (2014 Detroit Tigers draft pick) and Joe Butler (2016 grad/ISU signee).

2.16.15 - 6-foot-2, 155-pound, left-handed hitting outfielder. Lanky, athletic, projectable frame. Short arm action from an over the top arm slot, and accurate throws. Soft hands with fluid footwork. At the plate hits from a balanced spread out stance, smooth load, short stride, and good balance. Shows above average bat speed with loose, easy hands. Line drive, gap-to-gap hitter with a short, level swing path and fluid rhythm. 73 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.31.

7/14/14 - 6-foot-1, 150-pound two-way player, projectable, athletic frame; left-handed hitter, right-handed pitcher. Was one of the top athletes at the 2017 Top Prospect Games; ran an event-best 4.33 home-to-first time from the left side. Offensively, has a balanced, square setup; currently a handsy type hitter, potential for more power potential down the road with more lower-half involvement. Has level, flat path, quiet mechanics, line-drive approach; registered 73 mph exit velocity. From the outfield, throws from over the top slot, made accurate throws at 76 mph. On the mound, works from high three-quarter slot, repeats athletic delivery well, arm works with ease. Fastball topped at 75 mph, sitting 72-73. Showed solid feel for changeup, at 68 mph, with some arm-side sink. Also throws 58-61 mph curveball.
