Also showed a breaking ball with short, late wrinkle at 77-81 mph and quality changeup at 85 mph. One of the top right-handed arms in the state.

Illinois commit, ranked No. 4 in the Illinois 2022 class. 6-foot, 215-pound right-handed pitcher with a broad-chested build, strong lower-half. One of the top arms in the state. Clean ¾ arm slot, arm works quick. Smooth, repeatable delivery; low-effort, athletic leg-lift at balance point, works downhill. Fastball sat 90-92 mph with extremely heavy 2-seam action at times; settled in at 89-91 mph later in the game, but still flashed 92 mph on occasion. Breaking ball was his go-to secondary offering, featuring sharp/late action off an 11/5 plane at 75-79 mph, tunneled well off his fastball. Flashed a changeup at 83 mph with arm-side movement and feel for the bottom portion of the zone. Final line on the day for Sanchez was 7 innings, 1 hit, 1 walk and 17 strikeouts. High-level 2022 Prospect.

9/13/20

At 6-foot, 200 pounds the 2022 Illinois recruit pumped easy velo into the low-90s throughout his appearance, touching 94 with his best bolt. From a ¾ slot, Sanchez located his heater to both sides of the plate with average spin rates mostly in the 2100-2200s, topping out at 2306 rpm. Showed good feel while mixing in a 77-80 mph slider. Super low effort delivery with good direction and solid down plane. Lands soft with still head. Strong pitchability, especially for his age. Top 5 round pro follow for the 2022 draft.
