Lindenwood signee, ranked No. 103 overall in the state’s senior class. Lean, well-proportioned 6-foot-2, 170-pound left/left athlete that offers physical upside and really looks the part in a uniform. Hit leadoff and started in right field for the Kahoks, also the game out of the bullpen later on. Loose, easy left-handed swing that stays level through the zone and gets on top of the baseball. Had two singles in this look; a barreled line drive to right field and a two-run single through the left side of the infield in a key spot. Hopped on the mound later on and touched 89 with his fastball, pitched at 84-88 mph. Spun a breaking ball with big depth and gradual action off a 1/7 plane at 74-76 mph.
Lindenwood commit, and currently ranked No. 103 in the state, Alcorn showcased some barrel strength Saturday morning when he swatted an opposite field home run in the first inning. The left-handed hitter is a loose-levered 6-foot-2, 170-pounds and operates with a compact, uphill bat path. He finished the game 1-for-4, with two RBI and a run scored. Also impressed the day before on the mound with a dynamic arsenal, running his fastball up to 88 mph, sitting mostly 86-87 mph with heavy running action. He also flashed a sharp 1/7 breaking ball at 74-76 mph and fading changeup at 79-80. Intriguing southpaw with a high ceiling.
Verbally committed to Lindenwood University.
Uncommitted. Lean, projectable 6-foot-1, 155-pound frame. Toed the rubber for the Kahoks in a Southwestern Conference matchup and turned in a quality start, punching out nine over six innings without allowing an earned run. Works with pace, fluid athlete with quality movement patterns, still learning how to sync his levers up with consistency. Has a presence to him on the mound, was in control of the game throughout. Clean and continuous arm swing that finishes out of a high ¾ slot. Fastball works easy out of the hand, touching 87 a handful of times in the first two innings, holding 84-86 mph throughout. More velocity to come, will consistently tap into more as he gains comfort with himself down the mound. Spun his breaking ball at 70-72 mph with sweep, spotted it below the zone for whiffs, also capable of landing it for strikes. An upside left-handed arm that’s still on the market who is seemingly just scratching the surface of what his ceiling is on the mound.
