5/4/13 - Top unsigned Illinois senior arm on the board. Currently ranked No. 54 in Illinois’ 2013 class. Against district rival Glenbrook North on Saturday, Pauly worked three innings of relief, yielding no hits. In his first inning, his fastball was consistently 88 mph, and struck out consecutive hitters, each with 89 mph fastballs. Consistently in the 86-87 range for the following two innings. Threw harder out of the stretch. Also showed a 74-78 mph curveball, a few that had tight 11/5 shape. The wiry 6-foot, 170-pound Pauly is athletic in his delivery, works from a high-3/4 slot and hides the ball well. Anyone in the need of an upper-80s left-hander, he’d be a good place to start.

6/12/12 Pauly is a 6-foot, 170-pound left-handed pitcher who impressed with a loose, quick arm.  Pauly throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and showed hard arm side run on his 81-84 mph fastball.  His secondary pitches include a curveball (69-71 mph) that flashed tight spin and a sharp break and a 69 mph changeup.  Pauly throws three pitches for strikes and commands the zone nicely. He repeats his delivery and maintains rhythm and tempo well.
