Unsigned Senior Spotlight: LHP Kyle Pauly

By Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director - Illinois

Today’s unsigned senior spotlight is on southpaw Kyle Pauly. Pauly is a left handed pitcher from Glenbrook South. Pauly is the ace of Glenbrook South staff that is currently 14-2 and ranked No. 12 in the state. The left hander is highly athletic and also hits three-hole for the Titans. Pauly is the No. 54 ranked player in the state and is pitching like a high level prospect.

Pauly has an athletic build standing 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. His delivery has good tempo while his arm action is athletic, quick and clean.  Pauly’s fastball has above average lateral run to his arm side sitting at 84-87 and touching 88 mph. He also shows the ability to hold his velocity for most of the game. In a recent relief appearance we saw Pauly touch 89 mph multiple times from the stretch. His curveball showed occasional sharp downward action when thrown hard (72-76 mph) and to his glove side. His changeup had fading action at 78-80 mph showing above average action at times.

Pauly is an athletic left handed arm, which is hard to come by. His arm works quick and shows potential. He is arguably one of the more coveted assets still available in the Class of 2013.
