INF Lucas Hovinen (Lake Zurich, 2027) will be a name for us to follow moving forward. There’s plenty to dream on in his 6-foot, 197-pound frame, and he has clear strength in his right-handed swing with a peak EV of 94 mph - showing a strong, flat swing with bat-speed and jump off the barrel.

SS Lucas Hovinen (Lake Zurich, 2027) made some waves on Sunday and will surely be a name to follow throughout his prep career. He has a projectable build at 6-foot, 170-pounds and he has much more in the tank physically. The right-handed hitter has a loose and fluid operation at the plate, staying through the ball with a flat path, displaying rhythm throughout his round with easy effort and a balanced finish. Defensively, Hovinen showed soft hands with athletic, fluid actions and quality footwork. He showed clean arm actions as well, and looks like he has the ability to stick up the middle moving forward. Upside prospect with his best days still ahead of him.
