Got the nod for Game 7 Legacy against ISA Stars Royal on Friday afternoon. Long arm action, high ¾ slot; easy arm speed. Extremely fluid delivery, upper/lower half consistently work in sync. Athletic drop/drive delivery, front side is high at hand separation, excellent lower half posture at footstrike. Fastball sat at a lively 85-86 mph, touching 87 mph several times throughout. Consistently went to a hard, biting slider in the 78-80 mph range that tunnels well with fastball, swing-and-miss offering. Struck out eight batters in four no-hit innings.

Currently ranked No. 25 in the Illinois’ 2021 class. 6-foot-1, 168-pound, right-handed pitcher; long-limbed, high-waisted, projectable build. Looks taller on the mound than the listed 6-foot-1. Came out of the bullpen and closed out the game, throwing 2.1 perfect innings. Struck out one and did not allow a ball to leave the infield. Deliberate delivery, works slow and controlled, lands on-line, occasional effort and tendency to spin off on finish. Live, loose arm action, works quick out front, high ¾ slot. Fastball jumps out of the hand, finish through the zone, late arm-side-run, sat 86-88 mph. Showed the ability to throw to his glove side and work down in the zone at times. Mixed in a curveball, works mostly 11/5, flashed depth, around the zone, 72-73 mph. Showed a changeup in warmups, missed down, straight action. Upside 2021 right-handed pitcher with more in the tank.

Methodical pace until hand break, tall, sturdy balance, heel lifted, extends in-line, toe lands slightly open, easy and athletic finish, smooth rhythm throughout. Full arm action, uninterrupted swing, quicker arm speed, loose and live out front, high ¾ slot, regular effort. Baseball comes out of his hand easy. Fastball played straight with some late life through the zone, sat 83-85 mph. Curveball, sharp 11/5 bite, power depth with arm speed, in the strike zone, 70-72 mph. Changeup sank to his arm side deceptively off his heater, arm speed maintained, 76-79 mph.

8/8/18 - 6-foot, 166-pound, lean, athletically-built, two-way prospect. On the mound, right-handed pitcher, tall and fall , linear, directional delivery, lands front toe open. Long arm action, comes out of a short, high ¾ window, quick out front. Fastball, works mostly straight, flashed run, sat 81-82 mph, touched 83. Changeup, maintains arm speed, feel, fade action, 70-73 mph. Curveball, 12/6 shape, depth, 68-70 mph. Offensively, right-handed hitter, quiet, balanced, wider setup, smooth load and long stride. Long and level bat path, line-drive approach and 86 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively, in the outfield, plays through the baseball, clean release.
