Marco Morrone had himself a loud outing in relief on Sunday, going three innings with six strikeouts and no earned runs. The 5-foot-10 175-pound southpaw features a mid 70s fastball that topped at 76 with a nice sink and a mid 60s slider that worked inside and out to both handedness of hitters. He also used a curveball and changeup but not as much as the FB/SL combo. A confident player, it was clear that Morrone has the mind of a pitcher, as his four pitch mix was used throughout the at bat no matter the count. His effectiveness silenced the hitters to only one hit in his three innings of work.
