McCue

McCue, standing at a scrappy 5-foot-8, 165-pound frame, came up clutch for the Bourbonnais Braves in their victory to start the weekend, as the Evansville commit sent a single through the infield to plate a teammate in a big four-run third inning. The lefty presents quick hands and quality bat-to-ball skills, priming him to be a top-of-the-order bat in the near future, as he currently controls the three-spot in the lineup for his travel baseball team.

Verbally committed to Evansville.

Body: 5-9, 165-pounds. Athletic build with evenly distributed weight, room to add on strength.
Hit: LHH. Open setup, weight more on the back knee, hangs foot into a medium stride.  Athletic hands, stays somewhat short to the ball with a flat path, maintains balance through contact, middle approach.
Power: 97 max exit velocity, averaged 89.5 mph. 320’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 84 mph. Plays from a loose 3/4 slot, life out of the hand.
Defense: Two hand gather out front, steady hands, body control on the move and plays through low to the ground, active feet.

 The 5-foot-9, 160-pound left-handed hitter has loose, athletic hands, controlled the barrel and drove hard contact to all fields during BP. McCue carried over his strong BP round to defense where he showed smooth actions on the infield, playing with body control on the move and sure-hands. McCue topped at 78 mph across the infield and ran a 7.32 60.
