10/13/13 - Impressive frame, 6-foot-3, 195-pound outfielder, athletic build. Defensively shows some of the smoothest outfield actions in the state, feet work effortlessly to the baseball, athletic crow hop, 7.03 runner in the 60. Arm plays true to its target, advanced carry, typical outfield arm action, long over the top slot, showed accuracy at 89 mph. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, short stride, smooth loading action. Rhythmic hitter, showed bat speed, short path with extension, made solid contact. Fuentes plays the game with ease both offensively and defensively, highly athletic with excellent future potential.

5/17/13 - No. 12 ranked player in Illinois class of 2014, No. 53 overall. Advanced frame, shows projection. Toolsy player, advanced arm strength and bat speed, above average runner. Offensively showed excellent plate awareness, gap to gap approach with a slight inside out tendency. Defensively takes great routes to the baseball, above average reads. Went 2-for-3 at the plate.

2/17/3 - Advanced frame, athletic build, wide shoulder, potential to be a plus body, 6-foot-2, 190-pound outfielder. One of the top outfielders in the state as well as the region. Above average runner, 6.96 60 yard dash. Defensively shows advanced actions, fields the baseball athletically, plays through the ball well, has excellent hands, advanced crow hop and release. Arm works like a traditional outfielder, long arm action, over the top slot, shows excellent accuracy, arm plays with life and above average carry, stays true off the turf, 90 mph from the outfield, arms plays better than velocity shows. At the plate, hits from a balanced setup, short stride, quiet approach. Swing shows excellent athleticism, stays through the ball well, creates excellent extension. Swing shows rhythm, swings with ease, creates easy hard contact, 88 mph exit velocity. Advanced approach, very quiet, easy effort, lets ball travel, creates extension. Very high projection, high level prospect.

10/21/12 - Fuentes has a plus body, standing 6-foot-2, 190-pounds his body is ready for the next level. In the outfield, Fuentes showed true outfield actions with natural instincts running precise routes, to and through the baseball. His arm action is also that of a true outfielder using a long over the top action producing throws that stayed on line with life and accuracy at 90 mph. Fuentes’ feet work well running a 7.08 60 and showing the ability to move side to side in the outfield with ease. Offensively, Fuentes displayed a solid presence in the box. He hit out of an athletic set up using a smooth load and short stride. He has a quiet approach at the plate, eliminating a lot of moving parts. His bat speed is there as he flashed signs of power throughout his round. Overall Fuentes swing is smooth and disciplined and should translate well at the next level. Fuentes will be one of the more sought after outfielders in the Class of 2014.
