OF Nolan Hecht (DePaul College Prep, 2028) put on a show in his round of BP, and he will be a real power bat to monitor in the coming years. Standing in at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, there’s some lean strength in his frame at the moment, but there is also still room for him to add in the coming years. At the plate, the left-handed hitter has a longer, flat swing with easy jump off the barrel, peaking at 104 mph for his EV with line-drives, also averaging 74.4 mph for his bat-speed. He showed steady, reliable actions in the outfield, pairing with a strong arm (T85 mph). On the mound, the southpaw showed a clean delivery with a three-pitch mix. The fastball ran up to 83 mph with natural run, and he showed two offspeed offerings with a changeup and curveball mix for strikes.
Hecht presents an intriguing 6-foot-1, 170 pound frame with room to fill out. Hecht helped offensively with the win over Longshots Baseball going 3-for-3 with three RBI’s. He has a simple left-handed approach, looking to drive balls into the gaps. He showcased that he can hit balls to all parts of the field. Mechanically, he has a balanced load with a short stride, the barrel stays flat through the zone, and has direct hands to the ball. There is a lot of upside for Hecht with growth and development in the future.
1B/LHP Nolan Hecht (N/A, 2028) is a left/left two-way prospect to note from the event. Offensively, short, simple swing, repeated line-drive contact with loose, strong hands and the top exit velocity of the event; T81 mph. He was also comfortable around the first base bag during defense, showing athleticism and a loose arm that was good for the second-strongest of the event at 71 mph. He rounded out his day on the mound where he sat 70-71 mph.
