One of the top defensive catchers in the state; receives and blocks well, athletic feet, plays with energy. Accurate thrower with quick release. Gunned attempted base-stealer with 2.02 pop time. Offensively, hits cleanup; finished 0-for-2 with two walks and a strikeout.
6/19/14 - 5-foot-11, 180-pound catcher. Defensive minded backstop, strong catch and throw guy, transfers the ball quickly and efficiently. Arm action is short, over the top action, showed carry, posted 1.92-2.08 pop times, 76 mph arm from the crouch. Offensively hits from an open stance, slightly crouched, short stride with smooth loading action. Swing shows some effort, line drive approach, showed the ability to spray both gaps. 88 mph exit velocity from the tee.
4/10/14 - Looks to be the real deal behind the plate for the Huskies. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound catcher was 2-for-4 on the day with a double to deep right center. He looked athletic and quick behind the plate. There were no pass balls recorded on him and he was 1.97 in-game pop time to gun down a runner. He threw out two guys while also back-picking a kid at third.
2/16/14 5-foot-11, 165-pound catcher, average build. Defensively one of the more advanced receivers in attendance. Hands are soft, quick clean exchange footwork is quick. Gets out of the crouch efficiently and stays low through release. Arm action is short and over the top, quick arm, highly accurate with carry, improved arm strength, 79 mph out of the crouch. Posted 1.93-2.07 pop times. Receives well with soft hands and agile lateral movement, blocks well. Offensively hits from a slightly open stance, short stride with slight leg lift. Simple swing, repeats well, bat path is flat, works both gaps. 82 mph exit velocity from the tee.
7.17.13 - Shows potential to be high-level 2015 catching prospect. Slight 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame. Shows highly athletic feet, quick transfer, advanced overall defensive mechanics. Short arm action, ball stays on line. Registered consistent pop times ranging between 1.94-2.04, all on the bag. Ran a 7.28 60. Offensively, hits from an athletic setup, bat speed present, quiet and quick to the baseball. Repeats mechanics well, line drive approach, works middle of the field, excellent barrel awareness. With added strength, should develop into highly coveted prospect.
