As we look forward to the Midwest Future Games, the Class of 2015 Showcase on July 17 was a stellar event featuring some of the top 2015 prospects the state of Illinois has to offer.

Several guys stood out on the mound but most notably RHP Shane Ritter (Plainfield South) who touched 87 mph while sitting 84-86 from a long loose arm action out of a 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame and Mitchell Janssen, who sat 86-87 mph as the 6-foot-3, 190 righty from Princeville feature a quick arm action which looks to have plenty more in the tank.

Patrick Rumoro (Oak Park River Forest) was one of the top prospects in attendance, as the 5-foot-10, 155-pound catcher posted several sub 2.0 pop times with a best of 1.94. Rumoro also made his presence felt at the plate, squaring up baseballs regularly with authority.

Corner infielder Luke Mangieri (Dunlap) was one of the more impressive physical specimens in attendance. At 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, Mangieri ran an event best 6.82 while showing off his power with an 89 mph exit velocity from the tee. Mangieri is a rare combination of power and speed with a highly projectable frame.

Middle infielder Dylan Grady (Champaign Central) showed one of the more well-rounded game’s at the event. Grady ran a 7.16 60, while showing off an 82 mph arm across the diamond and 88 mph exit velocities from the tee.
