Minella

5/4/13 - Lanky, projectable 6-foot-2 left-handed pitcher with long limbs. Athletic, fluid delivery, shows good rhythm and tempo. Works from ¾ slot, long and loose arm action, clean and easy. Fastball sat in 77-79 range with some arm-side run. At Preseason All-State Showcase, Minella showed 80-81 velocity. Curveball has slurve shape in 64-66 mph range; throws curveball for strikes. As he fills into his frame, Minella should add velocity in the coming years.

2/17/13 - Lanky left handed pitcher, 6-foot-2, 160-pounds. Delivery shows smooth rhythm, tall and fall approach. Arm works from a ¾ arm slot, long loose arm action. Fastball has arm side run, late action in the zone, 80-81 mph. Curveball has sweeping action, decelerates arm some, 67-71 mph, slurve action. Change up has sink, 75-78 mph. Minella has a high ceiling, frame can hold additional weight, arm works freely, shows feel for secondary pitches.

7.25.12 Minella is a long-limbed 6-foot-2, 160-pound left-handed pitcher who impressed with his rhythm on the mound and feel for three pitches.  Operating from a high ¾ arm slot, Minella’s arm works with little effort. He showcased a fastball with run that topped at 78 mph. With his frame and looseness, he could see a velocity spike as he physically develops.  Minella also threw 63-64 mph curveball and a changeup that sat at 75-76.
