Wisconsin-Parkside commit, currently ranked No. 258 in Illinois’ senior class. High-waisted 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame. Started on the mound and hit out of the six-hole. Mulhern had a stellar showing on the bump in Monday’s game, tossing six shutout innings with seven strikeouts and only three hits allowed. He was able to induce swings and misses with his three pitch mix. He operated out of a controlled drop/drive delivery that showed repeatability, with a loose ¾ arm action. His fastball sat 83-85 mph with horizontal ride through the zone. He also utilized a tight 11/5 curveball that flashed out pitch potential, and a changeup at 77-79 mph that had late fading action. At the plate, Mulhern would lead the team in hits and runs batted in for the day with three each. He showed great bat-to-ball skills in the game, barreling up three hard hit balls, including a ground-rule double to deep left. Final Line: 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K, 3-for-4, 2B, 3 RBI. An overall impressive showing on both sides of the ball from the right-hander.

Mulhern showcased advanced pitchability in a dominant showing on the mound. Downhill mover on the mound with a balanced delivery and clean arm-action. Fastball sat in the low-80s, T84 mph with ride through the zone. Confident in a low-70s curveball that was thrown in all counts and got swings and misses low in the zone. Also flashed feel for a changeup in the upper-70s with slight fade to catch hitters out in front. Allowed just one hit in his four-inning start, while also tallying six strikeouts.

Arm: RH. INF-76 mph .Long arm into a high 3/4 slot, quick arm.
Defense: Steady hands, clean transfer.
