6/14/12 Ramirez is a 6-foot-1, 200-pound multi-positional athlete who looks to be one of the premier third basemen in the Class of 2013. Ramirez showed advanced skills in all facets of the game. Defensively, Ramirez exhibited soft hands while working through the ball with ease and displayed an accurate arm across the diamond with carry (84 mph). Ramirez showed smooth footwork while taking excellent angles to the baseball. Offensively, Ramirez possesses an explosive right-handed swing with a quiet front side as he stays balanced through the ball. Ramirez had arguably the best round of bp of the loaded event, consistently squaring up the baseball with backspin carry. On the mound, Ramirez throws over the top with solid rhythm and easy effort. He throws a heavy fastball that topped at 85 mph and a changeup with late sink and solid feel that sat at 74-75 mph. Shortly after the event, Ramirez verbally committed to UIC.
