2/19/12 Blanton is 6-foot-1, 190-pound two-way player who impressed in every aspect of the game. On the mound, Blanton showed solid feel and easy effort in his delivery. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and has three pitches: an 82-84 mph fastball with run, a 61-64 mph curveball, and a 77-78 mph changeup with sink. Defensively, Blanton showed extremely well at third base, demonstrating good lateral range and solid hands. He exhibited a strong, accurate arm across the diamond (83 mph). At the plate, Blanton has a balanced setup and maintains excellent balance throughout. He creates good loft in his swing, as he consistently made hard contact to the power alleys.

With his 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame, Blanton features a strong arm that was clocked at 82 mph from third base. Additionally, he showed concise lateral footwork and soft hands at third base. Blanton, who ran a 7.38 60, demonstrated some power potential at the plate. On the mound, Blanton has a high ¾ slot and was sitting at 80-81 mph with his fastball. He also showed feel for his changeup, which he threw for strikes at a similar arm speed.
