9/29/21

As one of the top uncommitted arms in the Midwest, Episcope put together the weekend’s most impressive outing at our PBR at The Rock Fall Championships – yet another dominant outing of his this fall in front of our staff. The 6-foot, 195-pound Episcope toed the rubber for Elite Baseball Training on Sunday morning, tossing five scoreless innings and striking out 10 on just 72 pitches. He exclusively sat in the high-80s throughout with his fastball, firing multiple 90 mph bullets and reaching a 91 mph high. Episcope’s go-to secondary pitch is a sharp, true 12/6 breaking ball with bite and depth. His ability to spin it for strikes, or beneath the zone, in any count to any hitter is what makes it a true swing-and-miss weapon. He’s on a major upward trajectory thanks to an impressive fall campaign.

Sean Episcope: RHP/3B, (2022) The Latin School of Chicago, IL. 5-foot-11, 175-pound lean frame. Advanced during batting practice, the right-handed hitter showed power in the box with an exit velocity of 95 mph. Started in a balanced stance with a quick load, then used a short stride to initiate his swing. Bat speed is explosive, exhibits upward swing plane and level finish. He Barreled up lots of balls during the round. Gap to gap approach. Advanced again in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 90 mph; showed soft hands, athletic footwork and a natural exchange. Used a high ¾ slot with a short arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. Recorded a 60 time of 7.38 at the event. Projectable on the mound, where he showed good arm speed, he had an over-the-top arm angle with a quick arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher and shows high effort. Displays in line shoulders with an athletic balance point. Lands square with a clean finish. Curveball (69-71 mph), changeup (74-77 mph). Fastball came in at 84-85 mph; has command in the zone and running action with tight movement.
