Fr. RHP Sean Sherwood (Prairie Ridge) a 6-foot-2, 186 pound freshman, Sherwood showed intriguing stuff in the ‘pen. Ran the fastball up to 88 mph, sitting 84-87 mph with an avg. of 15 in. of avg. IVB. Sherwood showed three offspeeds, the curveball sat in the lower 70s with an avg. of 2150 rpm, the slider worked in the lower 70s with some HM and an avg. of 2152 rpm. Finally, flashed a changeup in the mid 70s with lower spin rates and an avg. of 12 in. of avg. HM. Sherwood looks to have an impact in his first-year with the Spartans.

Hit: RHH. Wide stance, fluid load, long stride. Direct, flat path, pull-side approach. 62 mph bat speed with 10 G’s of rotational acceleration. Power: 84 max exit velocity, averaged 73.7 mph. 286’ max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 82 mph. Long, easy arm action, 3/4 slot.
Defense: gets around the baseball, plays through and gains ground through release at times.
Run: 7.56 runner in the 60.
