Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 51 in the Illinois junior class. Strong, well-proportioned 6-foot-2, 205-pound prototypical starter’s frame with potential for added muscle. Started for the Vikings on the road against a tough Nazareth Academy lineup and put together an impressive performance. Tempo and rhythm in a drop/drive delivery downhill, efficiently transfers energy from his backside to footstrike, maintains direction to target and finishes square, does throw with some effort. Long arm action, high ¾ slot. Steadily held velocity on his fastball during his four-inning outing, played at 86-89 mph with straight/heavy action as it entered the zone, touched 90 mph twice in the first inning. Confidently landed a 69-71 mph curveball for strikes, threw it with more conviction than we’d seen in the past and comfortably turned to it when behind in the count, too. Allowed just three hits and an earned run in four innings. Struck out five batters and walked one on 61 pitches.
