As arguably the most athletic catcher in the class, Hogan missed the majority of his junior season with a broken leg. Determined to come back stronger than ever, Hogan showed no ill-effects of his injury. He was perhaps the most impressive player at the Fall Prospect Program, where he ran a 6.81 60 and flourished on a weekly basis with his all-around catching abilities. Offensively, he has quick hands and makes consistent hard contact. ... Hogan is a 6-foot, 165-pound athlete who looks to be one of the better catching prospects in the Class of 2012. He exhibited extremely quick feet behind the plate while firing accurate throws down to second base, with a top pop time of 2.03. He also showed solid arm strength (77 from the crouch). His athleticism was on display during the 60, as the catcher ran an impressive 7.02. Offensively, he showed quick, loose hands and takes a short path to the baseball. With his long legs and torso, Hogan has a projectable frame and the athleticism to continue to develop as he gets physically stronger. The 6-foot, 160-pound Hogan has a lean, athletic frame and quick feet behind the plate. Hogan proved to be one of the better receivers at the event, demonstrating soft hands and a strong aptitude for blocking. Hogan had a top pop time of 2.06. At the plate, he showed to be an athletic hitter who displayed bat speed and an aggressive lower half. Hogan also ran a 7.22 60. The 6-foot, 160-pound athletic catcher has tremendously quick feet behind the plate. He also displayed an accurate arm with above-average arm strength. His top pop time was 2.02. Offensively, Hogan has a good setup and balance throughout his swing. With increased strength, Hogan has the athleticism and bat speed to hit for power.
