Brennan was born with a rare heart defect in which the left side of the heart is underdeveloped. Although the defect hasn’t slowed Brennan from being a four-year standout at the Danville school, he did, however, miss some of his junior year to correct a narrowing in his aorta. At the PBR Preseason All-State Showcase, Brennan really impressed with an easy 86-87 mph fastball with, it seemed, more in the tank.

Unknown heading into the event, Brennan watched his stock soar after the long and loose 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-hander showed an easy 86-87 mph fastball, which should continue to climb in the coming years. Brennans easy fastball had late life and natural arm-side sink. Brennan, who has long arms, operates from a arm slot and showed excellent feel for his changeup, which was consistently located down in the strike zone. Brennan looks to be one of the more projectable right-handers in the Class of 2012.
