Physically advanced at 6-foot-1, 170-pounds, Basinski got the day started with an impressive showing on the mound. The freshman effortlessly ran his fastball up to 85.5 mph, second best on the day, with much more to come. He also showed advanced feel to land his changeup/slider mix for strikes consistently. At the plate, the righty used a quick, rotational swing to line balls to the pullside throughout his round, posting a peak exit velocity of 90.5 mph. Basiniski finished up the day by firing a 85 mph bullet from the outfield.
