RHP Griffin Dobberstein (Marquette, 2027) is an uncommitted arm to know in the 2027 class. He stands in an athletic 5-foot-11, 174-pound frame, and operates out of a clean, athletic delivery with a long, loose arm path out of a high ¾ slot. He showed a three-pitch mix throughout his bullpen, featuring a fastball that sat 85-86 mph and came out of the hand clean. He mixed in an curveball at 73-75 mph that played with short, 11/5 shape (avg. 2,305 rpm, avg. -9.4" HM), and he rounded out his arsenal with a changeup at 80-82 mph thrown with hard intent and fade. Uncommitted. Stands in a 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame with more room to fill out. Pitched a perfect inning in relief for the Crusaders on Friday, collecting two strikeouts. Attacked hitters with a FB that sat 83-85 (T86) with arm-side run. Also flashed a low-70s SL with late 10/4 bite and showed an ability to locate the pitch glove side for swing-and-miss. Pitched with ease and athleticism down the mound with a low-tempo delivery, showed repeatability with a loose arm action. On Saturday, started on the mound. Settled in after the first, throwing four innings with two earned runs. He did damage at the plate going 3-for-4 with one RBI. Launched a solo home run to start the game, followed that up with two hard-hit singles to center. Must-know name in the 2027 class.

RHP Griffin Dobberstein (Ottawa Marquette, 2027) is an athletic mover on the mound with a projectable frame at 5-foot-9, 160 pounds. A two-way talent, he played on the infield in the 1A State Tournament enroute to the Crusader’s 1A State Title, further showcasing his athleticism. His fastball sat in the low-80s, T81.8 mph, with a curveball (67-68 mph) and changeup (73-74 mph) as secondary offerings. While the velocity isn’t there yet, his clean movement and overall athleticism suggest more is in the tank as he continues to develop. A name to watch in-game this spring and summer. On the other side of the ball, the right-handed hitter showed a whippy barrel and operation, working to stay up the middle of the field, upside swing, reaching up to 91 mph for his EV.
