6/24/25
A physical 6-foot, 195 pounder coming off a big offensive season for Penn. Posted double digit extra-base hit totals this spring to back the 100+ exits he posted at this event. Starts tall, controls forward move with bat setting in a strong position to hit. Some length to the turn but delivers the barrel with a flatter angle and has the ability to spray it with strength. Some stiffness defensively but is sure-handed. Average arm strength across (83 mph). A tick better than average runner, posted a 6.97. The bat is what sells here and there is a very strong track record with it.

Profile - Stocky, 6-foot, 195 pounder. Bat is best tool and holds power potential. 104-plus exit allows for present abv avg power grades, hit the furthest batted ball of the event per Trackman (404 feet). Present plus bat speed with 79 mph avg & flashed higher. He is a tick above average runner (6.90) with fringe average arm strength (83 across). Profiles as bat-first 2B/3B. Actions - Offense: Starts tall & relaxed. Toe tap stride retracts early in the operation and he counterbalances a heavy forward move with a handsy, lower load. Aggressive intent w flatter path and heaviness to the barrel. Best balls are struck pull-side. Defense: Fundamental actions w solid glove to hand. Can quick release. Summation: The raw strength in the box is what I like most about Hartford. He turns the barrel w tremendous bat speed for the age with big impacts presently. Hartford was an unofficial "MVP" of our Fall State Games and should continue to see his name rise on our list as he gears up for a big junior spring for Penn. He is more athletic than the stocky frame suggests with solid actions on the dirt.
10/29/24

Hartford walked away as an "MVP" candidate after collecting three hits during gameplay, including an extra-base hit. None of his hits came cheap, reaffirming the 100-plus exit velocity that he posted during batting practice. The swing works on a looser, level plane with his best balls struck to the pull-side.
