6/22/17: Arizona State recruit. 6-foot-3, 170-pound right-handed pitcher, wiry-thin frame with long limbs and plenty of room for continued physical development. Young build with considerable upside. Was masterful for the Indiana Bulls Black squad  in the first three innings against the Wisconsin Hitters, dotting his 86-88 mph fastball at the knees and below to both sides of the plate. Then he’d snap off his hard-biting 78-mph slider, tight and sharp, starting it in the same location and burying it down. His slider is a true wipeout pitch, throwing it with aggression and out of the same window. It’s a more polished version of it that turned heads at the Future Games last August.

2017 Spring Scout Blog:
Athletic, lanky 6-foot-3, 170 pound Arizona State commit has filled in physically and made another velocity jump since the PBR Future Games.  Dennie sat 87-89, touching 90 through the first 4 innings of work.  Held 85-87, touching 89 into the 7th. Slider is a plus out pitch at 78-80 with 10/4 shape and late tilt.  Several uncomfortable swings on the slider.  Curveball is a tick slower, sitting 73-75 with 11/5 shape and good depth.  Able to throw it for a strike and backdoor to left-handed hitters. Showcased feel for the off-speed in any count, even going 3 straight sliders to work back from a 3-0 count.   Dennie looks much more physical then last summer when he was a high follow recruit.  Electric arm speed in a 3/4 slot creates hard, downhill run with the fastball.  Smooth rhythm, rides his backside down the hill.  Lands firm on front leg, finishes upright.  Dennie continues to impress since he jumped on the scene as a freshman, steadily improving velocity from 80 to 90 in just over a year.  He is currently ranked No. 2 in the 2019 Indiana class, 80th overall.

Oct. 2016:
6-foot-1, 165-pounds (Plymouth HS, IN) Projectable long and wiry right-hander.  Continued strength and maturity will help add velocity as he currently does not get much use of his legs. Struggles at time to repeat his high ¾ arm slot on his fastball (84-86), but has great feel for his breaking ball (71-73 & 75-77) which he adds and subtracts off of, and shows tight spin with late break.  He remains compact while in the stretch and wind-up, and shows good athleticism.
8/5/16 FUTURE GAMES: The wiry-thin 6-foot-1, 165-pounder appeared to be completely undaunted by the throng of college coaches behind the backstop as he threw nearly all strikes with his fastball-slider combination. Despite being only a 2019, his slider is a swing-and-miss pitch at 74-76, showing darting two-plane action which he used to get a pair of strikeouts. His fastball topped at 88 mph, sitting 86-87.

6/21/16:
A 6 foot 155 pound right handed pitcher showcased a projectable from and delivery.  Arm action is short and quick.  Delivery has good balance and little effort used to get 82-84, touching 85 with the fastball.  Fastball has slight run and sink.  Curveball has 11/5 shape and gradual break.  Showcased good feel for it.  Slider was a later, tighter break.  Slider sat 75-76 while the curveball sat 66-69.
Offensively, Cameron hits from a tall, open stance.  Actions are stiff.  Bat path is level with extension.  Several line drives through batting practice.  He also ran a 7.09 60yd dash and produced an exit velocity of 81.
6/10/16: Class of 2019 right-handed pitcher Cam Dennie (Plymouth HS) has a thin, athletic 6-foot, 155-pound frame with plenty of room to fill out. He showed a quick arm with a fastball in the 84-86 mph range in the first inning, fell off some in the second inning to 82-85 before settling in at 81-83 for the rest of the game. Dennie showed feel for both a curveball at 71-74 mph and slider at 74-76 mph, flashed sharp versions of each pitch throughout the game. This past fall he worked mostly in the upper 70’s with his fastball, topping out at 81. Dennie is a young right-hander that continues to trend up.
9/27/15:
Cam showcase a fastball that sat 78-81 with arm side run.  Slider was most consistent breaking ball with late break and 10/4 shape.  Clean delivery with athletic finish.

9/20/15: 6-foot, 155 pound right-hander pitches from a high ¾ slot with quick arm speed.  Arm action is long.  Tilt/topple delivery with regular effort and smooth rhythm.  Shoulders stay level and has good direction.  Fastball has some run at 77-79.  Breaking ball has an 11/5 shape with sharp break at 64-66 and thrown for a strike.  Changeup is thrown with fastball arm speed showing sink at 69-70.  Slider has a 10/4 shape at 66-69.

Ran a 7.44-60 and was 78 across the infield. Above average defender with good hands and fluid feet.  Clean exchange. Has some carry on his throws.
