Mathison was another uncommitted winner that showed exceptionally well at the All-State event. A switch-hitting outfielder with real twitch, Mathison showed a loose, quick swing from both sides with plenty of bat speed. Reaching a peak exit velocity of 96.4 mph - the swing works direct and the ball jumps off the barrel. An above average runner (6.86) with arm strength from the outfield (88 mph) - Mathison has traditionally been a strong in-game performer and his tools continue to trend in a postive direction.

Position: OF/LHP

Body: 6-foot, 167-pound lean athletic build.

Hit: (Switch) Capable. Starts in a balanced stance with a high controlled load, then uses a small leg kick. Good extension on his finish, loose uphill swing. Gap to gap approach.

Power: 90.4 mph exit velocity, average 80.3 mph. 68.6 mph bat speed average. 22.6 mph hand speed average.

Defense:  (OF) Sure hands, smooth consistent footwork, clean exchange. Athletic.  Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally.

Arm: 80 mph outfield velocity. Quick arm action, ¾ slot, consistent accuracy.

Pitching: Fluid. Feel drop-and-drive delivery, easy effort. ¾ arm angle, good arm speed, short quick arm action. Athletic balance point, in line shoulders, lands square, a clean finish.

FB: 80-82 T 82.5 mph. (Max spin 2209;  Avg 2071). In the zone up in the zone accuracy, tilt swing and miss action.

CH: 75-76 mph. Feel in the zone command, sinking action.

SL: 70-71 mph. Glove side in the zone command, tight sweeping action, sharp movement. (Max spin 2449; Avg 2371).

Hit: (Switch) Projectable. Begins in a wide stance with an active load, then uses a small leg kick. Flashed bat speed. Loose level swing. Line drive approach. 

Power: 95.8 mph exit velocity, average 86.3 mph.

Defense:  (OF) Sure hands, quick exchange. Solid. 

Arm: 84 mph outfield velocity. Short arm action, high ¾ slot. 

Speed: 7.01 (60-yard).
