5-foot-10, 161-pound OF. Left-handed hitter who starts in a tall stance with his bat flat behind his head; uses rhythm in his hands for timing. Has a slight leg kick for power and a straight to the ball swing path; stays inside the ball well; 82 mph exit velocity. In OF, shows athletic movements; moves towards the ball aggressively; uses momentum to generate strong throws; 79 mph position velocity. Recorded a 60 time of 7.78.
5/1/2019 Spring Scout Blog: Young, athletic-framed outfielder with plenty of potential offensively. Currently leads off for an experienced high school team and could stay in the top two spots of the lineup with some speed development. Twitchy plate actions and good exit velocity for size and age. Fowler is a gap to gap hitter with occasional double potential at this point. Confident at the plate with an aggressive approach that should translate well with experience and as the body develops. Swing is short with good extension. Produces lift. Repeatable load and stride. Plays with passion and knowledge of the game. Defensively still learning outfield footwork but has decent arm strength.
2/23/2019: Jace Fowler, OF/LHP, Franklin HS, 2022, 5 foot 10, 161 pounds, sets up balanced and uses controlled leg lift to load. Separation is short and efficient, and Jace barrels balls consistently with above average bat speed for his age and recorded a max exit velo of 84 mph. Jace also threw 75 mph from the outfield with good footwork, release, and arm action. His left handed bat is one to follow in the 2022 class.
2/24/2018: 5-foot-9, 135 pound left-handed pitcher has a smooth, balanced delivery. Stays in line, lands squared and firm. High 3/4 slot. Average arm speed. Fastball sat 72-73 with slight arm side run. Well commanded. Breaking ball has good spin, downhill shape. Change-up has arm side fade. He hits from a tall, athletic setup. Fluid rhythm. Pulls off at times. Some twitch in lower half. Uphill path to contact. High exit velocity of 78.
