+ From (4/10/26) - Lueken provided one of the more intriguing looks I have gotten on a senior arm this spring in my first look. A square-shouldered, athletic, 6-foot-3, 205-pounder, Lueken works with quick tempo to an athletic lift and drives down the slope with the backside, stepping cross-fired before a loose, one-piece arm action gets to a high 3/4 slot with a lower-release height. The release traits are a bit of an outlier and allows for some serious hop on fastballs executed up. The pitch flattens out a bit over the middle, but he also flashed some devastating sink on low-and-armside heaters. He came out at 93-96 in the first, settled to 92-95 in the second, before his final frame was more 91-93 with a couple 94s. There is clear upside in the low-80s slider he showed, an inconsistent offering that flashed hard gyro-depth at best. He also showed a low-80s changeup sparingly. While there is clear relief risk that comes with fringy control at present, the unique power fastball carries value as does the upside that comes with a raw, athletic, 3-sport kid who has little training history. 18.7 at draft. Indiana commit.

+ RHP Jaxon Lueken (Forest Park) tossed a very well-executed bullpen in the midst of basketball season. An Indiana recruit that holds premier athleticism in a wiry, projectable, 6-foot-3, 180 pound frame - Lueken didn't quite reach the 92 mph mark we saw of him at LakePoint last July, but it was still 89.5 - 90 mph throughout with tons of strikes. His tight, upper-70s slider plays with sharp sweep and is a swing-and-miss offering that continues to trend in the right direction. The changeup has developed nicely over the last 12 months, now at least an above average pitch playing in the low-80s with sink.

Another prospect that represented Team Indiana at the 2023 Future Games as an underclassmen, Lueken had another strong showing at the All-State. An athletic, projectable, 6-foot-3, 175 pounder, Lueken carried (17" of IVB) his 87-88 mph fastball and was able to get it in the zone at an above average clip. The slider has firmed up, now working in the mid-to-upper 70s, and it has late, sweeping break. There is some feel for a 76-81 mph changeup, but it is behind the other two at this point. A multi-sport standout, Lueken moves with athleticism down the slope and uses his front arm as a lever to create arm speed and whip.

‘26 RHP Jaxon Lueken (Canes Midwest National) - Athletic, 6-foot-3, 175 pounder. Raw arm talent, plenty of life on a mid-80s fastball that was up to 86 mph a handful of times. Athleticism present in the delivery, uses front arm as a lever to create arm speed. Shorter, mid-70s slider. Major upside.
