5/1/2019 Spring Scout Blog: Uncommitted Top 50 player in the 2020 class, Ham is a big, strong-bodied 1B that stands at least 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds. Tall in the left handed batters box, Ham shows some pull side power with an upward bat path and good bad speed. In the field has soft hands and good footwork around the bag. Loose arm with good velocity and accuracy for a first baseman.

6/12/2018: Big framed 2020 1B who hits from left side. Tall athletic setup in box with hand wrap and leg lift as trigger. Showed pull side power and gap to gap ability. Bat path is uphill and quick through the zone. Displayed good potential with bat. In the field showed soft hands and easy footwork around the bag. Nice upside 2020 1B.

4/17/2018 Spring Scout Blog: Uncommitted. Physical L/L first baseman with an aggressive swing and improved work around the bag. Ham stands 6-foot-3 and looks more lean than last season. Balanced set up at the plate with narrow feet and a large, lunging stride. Loads early. Hands start low and move back creating good torque. Level to slightly uphill swing plane and good bat speed. Pull-side power.

3/30/2018 Spring Scout Blog: 6-foot-3, 195 pound sophomore hit cleanup and played first base, showcased good glove at first base and bat speed at the plate. Tall, balanced setup at the plate, hand load is big and long, arm bar at foot strike, uses leg lift to stride and separate. Maintained good balance through fastball swings, drove ball to centerfield and barreled a baseball over the SS head for extra bases. Long swing with strength, struggled with breaking ball, slowed bat and rolled over. Still some rawness in the swing, chance to be a power bat with better barrel and hand load. Feet looked lighter and more athletic around the base at first defensively, picked the ball well off the turf on errant throws and stretched to complete outs. Good footwork to field, advanced first baseman. Ranked #27 in 2020 class.

2/25/2017: Big, strong frame, 6-foot-3, 200 pounds.  Offensively the LHH hits from a balanced setup, big load back, short stride/dives at times, average lower half, maintains balance.  Quick bat speed, uphill swing plane, pull-side hitter with raw power. Registered a high exit velocity of 85 mph.  Defensively, sure hands, clean exchange, throws topped out at 76 mph.
