8/1/15 - Garrison is a 6-foot-1 225-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Garrison ran a 7.43 60 and posted a 92 mph exit velo. During batting practice, he showed a level swing path the produced line drives to the middle of the field. He has a balanced set-up and has a toe tap for timing and generates fast bat speed. During catching evaluations, he posted pop times between 2.00 and 2.08 making accurate throws. He has quick footwork and a quick release.
10/19/14 - Garrison is a strong 6-foot, 207-pound right-hand hitting catcher. Balanced set-up at the plate, slightly open stance, strides slightly closed, minimal hand load, maintains balance throughout, extension through the baseball, repeats, very aggressive swing with bat speed. Line drive gap-to-gap approach with exit velocity as high as 86 mph. In the game singled twice and hit a laser to left field for a loud out. Behind the plate showed quick feet and exchanges, short high three-quarters arm action, throws had carry, throwing velocity of 75 mph (top mark in camp), pop times in the 1.95-2.09 range, all throws on or near the bag. Ran a 7.63 60-yard dash and 4.73 home-to-first from the right side. Talented class of 2017 catching prospect with a chance to hit at a high level.
8/17/14 - Garrison is a strong 6-foot, 207-pound right-hand hitting catcher. Balanced set-up at the plate, slightly open stance, short inline stride, minimal hand load, short to the ball, slightly uphill bat path, fast bat, extension through the baseball, maintains balance throughout, gap-to-gap approach with juice, 87 mph exit velocity. Despite being one of the youngest players in camp, took the most impressive rounds of batting practice of the group. Ran a 4.86 home to first base, 7.69 60-yard dash. Quick feet behind the plate, inline stride, repeats footwork, maintains balance, short over-the-top throwing motion. 74 mph throwing velocity, top mark among the catchers at the event. 2.10-2.15 pop time range. Talented 2017 catching prospect with power projection at the plate.
