At the plate, tall and balanced set up, slight pre pitch rhythm in hands with slight weight shift to load, short stride, simple and repeatable, loose hands level path, controls the barrel with hands, gap to gap contact.  On the infield, 76 mph positional velocity, fluid actions, fields ball in athletic position, high three quarters arm slot, smooth transfer, loose arm action, accurate throws.

6/19/18 - Epke is a 5-foot-11, 165-pound left-handed hitting infielder and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class from Maize South HS. He ran a 4.33 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 81 mph. During batting practice, Epke has a balanced set up, quiet load, minimal head movement, high finish with hands, showed contact to the middle of the field. Defensively, Epke worked through the baseball, clean transfers, high ¾ arm slot, positional velo of 57 mph, accurate throws. On the mound, Epke’s delivery has a slower tempo, good body control and direction, clean arm action, fastball is 74-78 mph, strikes, some arm side run, curveball has gradual slurve type spin, 10-to-4 shape, 67-69 mph, changeup is 67-69 mph.
