1/21/17 - Lathrop, a class of 2017 grad, showed a smooth swing with mostly middle to pull line drives during batting practice, 83 mph exit velo.  Showed a strong and accurate arm in the outfield evals with an 85 mph positional velo, throws downhill with momentum, over the top release, ran a 6.98 60.
10/30/16 - Lathrop is a 6-foot 170-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2017 class.  He ran a 6.86 60, one of the fastest times of the day, and a 4.01 home-to-first, one of the top LHH times.  He has a 83 mph exit velo, one of the top LHH exit velos. At the plate, open stance, smooth and controlled load, minimal hand movement, level path, short to contact, middle of the cage contact during hitting evaluations.   In the outfield, 86 mph positional velo, one of the top outfield velos of the day, arm works, easy over the top arm action, attacks ball, plays through the catch, quick transfer and throw, accurate thrower with back spin.
2/21/16 - Lathrop is a 6-foot 170-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2017 class from Olathe East HS.  He ran a 4.15 home to first, one of fastest LHH times of the event, and has an exit velo of 88 mph, one of the top LHH exit velos of the event. At the plate, open stance, smooth load, slightly closed in stride, consistent line drives gap-to-gap during batting practice.  In the outfield, 78 mph positional velo, over the top release, arm works, clean transfer, quick release, plays behind the ball with momentum through the catch.
6/2/15 - Grant is 5'10 155-pound left hand hitting infielder from Olathe East. Moves well in the infield, cleanly fielded each ball with good footwork, stays down and attacks the ball, works through it and made accurate throws with a top velo of 75 mph. Can move quickly in the field with a posted 60/yd 7.25 and up the line from the left side of 4.29 home to first. Maintains balance with a slightly open stance and gets into a good position to hit, has good hands with good bat speed with gap to gap type approach and a 85 mph exit velo and a single in game action.

1/19/15 - Lathrop is a 5-foot-10, 145-pound infielder that attends Olathe East HS in Kansas. Class of 2017. Bats left-handed, open set-up, smooth hand load, strides square, short bat path, middle-oppo approach. Consistent hard, flat contact. Exit velocity clocked at 81 mph, ran a 4.29 home-to-first base. In the infield feet worked well, quick exchanges, clean three-quarters arm action, accurate throws, 75 mph throwing velocity. Class of 2017 left-hand hitting infield prospect that has made steady improvement over the last several months.
10/19/14 - Lathrop is a 5-foot-10, 145-pound left-hand hitting second baseman and third baseman. At the plate showed a balanced set-up, open stance, smooth hand load, short swing, simple, balance throughout, middle-oppo line drives, exit velocity 77 mph. Ran a 4.50 60-yard dash and 4.69 home-to-first. During defensive evaluations showed fluid footwork, clean exchanges, short three-quarters arm action, easy arm, 72 mph throwing velocity.
6/18/14 - Lathrop is a thin 5-foot-9, 135-pound left-hand hitting infielder.  At shortstop he fielded everything cleanly and made mostly accurate throws using a short, quick three quarters motion.  His top throw was clocked at 75 mph.  At the plate he has an athletic set-up and slightly open stance.  He presets his hands and stride foot and has a short swing.  Lathrop’s top exit velocity was 79 mph - an improvement from when we saw him in the winter.  He ran a 4.66 home-to-1B from the left side.  Just a rising sophomore, he’s a long way from filling out physically and maximizing his potential.
1/4/14 - The thin 5-foot-8, 125-pound Lathrop showed soft hands and quick feet from shortstop with and easy high ¾ throwing motion.  His top throwing velocity was 75 mph making mostly accurate throws with carry.  At the plate, the left-hand hitting Lathrop starts open; strides closed and drops his hands slightly in his load.  Overall he has good balance and is line-drive type of hitter.  His top exit velocity was 75 mph.  Left-handed hitting middle infielders have value and as the undersized Lathrop adds size and strength he could emerge as a solid college prospect.
