8/5/15 - Beets is a 5-foot-11 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher.  Beets ran a 6.94, one of the fastest times for the event, and had an exit velo of 90 mph, one of top exit velos for the event.  At the plate, Beets has a simple load with no wasted movement, starting from an athletic stance, consistent solid contact during batting practice, gap-to-gap, pull power.  In game action, singled to center and doubled to left, stole second base twice.  In the outfield, 82 mph throws, one of the top for the event, high three-quarters release, attacks ball, quick release, mostly accurate throws. Beets threw a lot of strikes during his outing, touching 87 mph twice, working primarily at 84-86 mph, posted one of the top velos of the event.  Curveball at 65-67 mph, gradual 12-to-6 shape.  He has quick arm speed with loose arm action, throwing on a downhill plane.  His body stays under control throughout his delivery and throws with regular effort.  He struck out two, walked one an gave up one hit during his inning of work.
3/31/15 - Beets is an uncommitted class of 2016 right-handed pitcher and shortstop that attends Gardner-Edgerton HS in Gardner, KS. Athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. Somewhat raw on the mound, arm strength guy, aggressive delivery with some effort. High three-quarters slot. Threw one inning in relief. Fastball 87-88 mph, threw some 89’s, around the plate. Showed one 11/5 breaking ball, 76 mph. Fast-twitch athlete with tools.
2/16/15 - Beets is a 5-foot-11, 165-pound outfielder and infielder that attends Gardner Edgerton HS in Gardner, KS. Class of 2016. Right-hand hitter, balanced set-up, smooth load, short path to ball, fast bat, extension through the ball. Hands really work. Simple and repeats. Hard and flat middle of the field contact in batting practice round. Exit velocity clocked at 92, ran a 4.16 home-to-first. Attacks the ball in the outfield, quick exchanges, quick high three-quarters arm action, 88 mph throwing velocity, accurate. Fielded the ball cleanly at shortstop, three-quarters arm action, 80 mph throwing velocity. Strong accurate throws. Quick-twitch athlete that has a chance to hit.
6/18/14 - Beets is a very athletic 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed pitcher.  From the wind-up Beets uses an old school hands over the head wind-up and has rhythm, a compact delivery, body control and direction.   He throws from a three-quarters slot with long, yet quick, arm action.  His fastball was cocked in the 83-86 mph range with an average 64-65 mph 12/6 curveball.  In warm-ups and in the game he showed feel for a 71-72 change-up that dies and sinks arm side down and away from left-hand hitters.  In the game he retired all four batters he faced, striking out three.
6/18/14 - Beets is a very athletic 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-hand hitting infielder/outfielder.  In the outfield he showed quick hands/feet, made clean exchanges and threw with quick three-quarters arm action.  His top throw was clocked at 83 mph. In the infield he fielded everything cleanly and showed a fast arm from a slightly-uphill high three-quarters throwing motion.  He made accurate throws and had a top throwing velocity of 81 mph.  At the plate he has a tall, athletic set-up, inline stance, uses a minimal hand load and short inline stride.  He has rhythm and a simple line drive approach with bat speed.  His top exit velocity was clocked at 85 mph. He also ran a 4.18 home-to-1B – the best right-handed time we’ve ever recorded at an event.  In the games Beets reached base twice including a home run to left field.
