2015 All-Eastern Kansas League - 1st Team 2014 KABC 6A All-State - First Team 2013 All-East Kansas League - First Team 2013 Fall Kansas City Royals Scout Team
5/4/15 - Cyr is a Mississippi State commit and 2015 MLB Draft prospect. Attends Blue Valley HS in Stilwell, KS. Right-handed pitcher. Physical 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame. Ideal pitcher’s body. Multi-sport athlete. Aggressive delivery, repeats, high three-quarters arm action, arm works. Maintained 88-91 mph fastball velocity through eight innings, topped out at 92, high percentage of strikes. Beat several hitters with his fastball, swing and miss pitch. Command of hard 77-78 mph curveball, late action. Pitched eight innings, four hits, no walks and nine strikeouts. Cyr was named all-Eastern Kansas League as a sophomore and has shown steady improvement in terms of pitch development and velocity over the last two years.
4/12/14 - We’ve seen Cyr a number of times and each time he gets better. The strong, athletic 6-foot-3, 190-pound Cyr pitched the final inning of the Tigers 4-3 win over South to pick up the save in dominating fashion collecting two strikeouts in the frame. He aggressively attacked the zone with his fastball, six of which registered at 88 mph, giving South little hope for a final inning comeback.
4/1/14 - Still looking as strong as ever this was Cyr’s second outing this season. The right-hander worked through each inning using primarily his fastball in the first two innings where he sat 86-87 mph, touching 88. Cyr allowed only one Blazer to reach base on a single in the first and second inning before a 1-2-3 inning in the third. He also flashed a 72-74 mph knuckle curve that shows some tight spin and bite.
2/17/14 - The strong, athletic 6-foot-3, 190-pound righty throws from a high ¾ slot with clean arm action and excellent body control throughout his delivery. His fastball ranged from 84-86 most with controllable hard sinking action. He also features a late breaking 70-74 knuckle-curve and 76-79 sinking change-up. He demonstrated command of all three on Monday. Even though he has yet to throw a pitch in his junior season, Cyr has already established himself at the high school level as he was the only sophomore named to the All-Eastern Kansas League First Team last spring, an impressive accomplishment when you consider how strong that league is. Cyr was the top pitching prospect at the event and is one of the top uncommitted 2015 pitchers in the Midwest.
12/28/13 - The strong-framed 6-foot-2, 190-pound Cyr is widely regarded as one of the top class of 2015 pitchers in the area and is front and center on the radar screen of nearby major college baseball programs. He throws from a high ¾ slot with clean arm action and has excellent body control throughout his delivery – definitely a pitcher very capable of developing high-level command down the road. He worked in the 82-86 mph range with his fastball, displaying late downward sinking action. He also showed command of an upper 60’s knuckle curve ball and mid-70’s sinking change up. One thing to keep in mind about Cyr is he also plays football, helping Blue Valley HS capture the state championship just weeks ago so he’s still transitioning from football to baseball mode, I would anticipate mid-80’s turning into upper 80’s once he loosens up this spring. Cyr plays for the Mac N Seitz organization out of Kansas City, Missouri in the summer.
