6/5/18 - Wood is a lean 5-foot-10 165-pound switch-hitting outfielder and left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 6.64 60 and 4.31 home to first from the left side.  He has an 88 mph exit velocity. At the plate, simple and repeatable from both side, no wasted movement, stays inside the ball from both sides, middle oppo site field, more pull from right side, level swing path with feel for the barrel. In the outfield, three quarters arm slot, sighing type arm action, stays under control, works though the ball with momentum and clean transfer, mostly accurate throws, 71 mph positional velocity. On the mound, high three quarters arm slot, quick and loose arm action, works slightly across body, hides ball well until release, fastball at 74-76 mph, breaking ball is a 2-to-8 slider with sweeping action, 67-68 mph, late and occasionally sharp action, creates some deception with arm angle and direction, throws high number of strikes with fastball and slider, repeats delivery.

2/24/18 - Wood is an athletic 5-foot-10 switch-hitting outfielder and left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 4.47 home to first and has an exit velocity of 87 mph. At the plate, starts slightly open, smooth pre-pitch rhythm in hands, minimal hand load, smooth weight shift to back side, similar swing from both sides, slightly more closed off from left side during stride, gap to gap approach, loose hands from the right side, level swing path, hands control the barrel, solid consistent line drives from both sides.  In the outfield, 76 mph positional velocity, throws left, smooth and athletic footwork, maintains momentum through the catch, clean exchanges on time with footwork, easy arm action, high three quarters arm slot. On the mound, Wood comes from a high three quarters arm slot, lands slightly closed, throws with some effort, falls slightly to 3B at finish, works slightly uphill with shoulders as he gets down the mound, arm works, fastball at 74-76 mph, arm side running action, breaking ball at 2-to-8 shape, late break, starts in the strike zone, 65-66 mph, change up at 71-73 mph, slight arm side release, near fastball arm speed.
