Walker was another former Future Gamer who showed well in last week's Game of the Week. The Broncos didn't do much against Barbe last week, but he managed to put together some quality at-bats. He drew a 7 pitch walk in his first at-bat, singled to left field on a FB on the inner-half in his second at-bat, and then stayed back on a hanging CB in his 3rd at-bat for a double to LF to finish the game 2-3. Defensively, he blocked some really tough pitches, in what turned out to be a tough night for Sam Houston pitchers, and we also clocked him at a 2.03 in between innings down to second base. Walker is as steady of a defender behind the plate that you'll find in the state and if his offense continues to trend in the right direction, then he only becomes more valuable, as one of the top uncommitted catchers in Louisiana.

1/19/22

Physical 5'9" 165 lbs. frame with a sturdy and compact build.  Walker was a guy that we were excited to see going into Saturday, after receiving positive reports on his fall.  Flashed some pop in BP and recorded a max exit velocity of 86 mph.  There's still some things he needs to clean up with the swing, but he showed strength and the ability to find the barrel.  Behind the plate, quality receiver with a quick transfer that resulted in a 2.05 pop time and 72 mph positional velocity.  He also posted a 7.31 in the 60.  Good athlete and one to watch in the freshman class.
