Active feet clean hands, nice exchange and throws across diamond are accurate and have some carry at 79 mph.
7.7.15 - Athletic frame at 5-foot-11 165-pounds. Hits from a slightly open set up. Short stride and smooth load and double tap. Level bat path with quick hands and some bat speed. Good rhythm in swing and some lower half usage. Exit velocity of 84 mph. Has active feet and sound footwork. Soft hands with a clean exchange. Throws have some carry on them and are accurate at 79 mph. Throws from a low ¾ arm slot. Ran a 7.07 60-yard dash. Sound player and prospect to follow that is currently ranked 7th in the Maryland state rankings.
6.30.15 - Athletic frame at 5-foot-11 165-pounds. Athletic third baseman that could also play a middle position. Quick and active feet with soft hands and a fluid and quick exchange. Loose arm action throwing from a ¾ arm angle. Throws have some carry on them across the diamond and were accurate at 79 mph. Plays thru the ball. Hits from a slightly open set up with a short stride. Level swing path with quick bat speed and extension through contact. Gap-to-gap type hitter. Ran a 4.61 home to first and had an exit velocity of 83 mph. As he fills out frame and gets stronger will be a nice prospect to keep an eye on.
6.12.15 - showed soft hands and quick exchange from the shortstop position. Throws were accurate with some carry. Hits from an open stance with leg kick involved in his load. Short swing to the ball with a barrel that stays in the zone. Athletic frame at 5-foot-11 170-pounds with room to build upon. Versatility to play other infield positions. As he fills out frame should be an interesting prospect to follow
2.21.15 - Connor Shockley is a 5-foot-10 170-pound 3B/RHP. On the mound, Shockley throws from an almost over the top arm slot with a free arm action. He showed good rhythm and pitched topped out at 82 with regular effort. His 11/5 breaking ball has power action to the pitch with a near fastball arm speed. His changeup was consistenly 74 mph and he pounded the strike zone with a clean delivery. Shockley may project best as a position player currently. He has fluid footwork that plays through the baseball well. His hands are soft and he has a quick, clean exchange. His throws are accurate and had good carry on the with a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. His infield velocity was consistently 78 mph. Hitting from an athletic setup, Shockley gets a little long in his swing but makes up for that with a fast bat. He is a line drive type hitter with potential for power and has an exit velocity of 78 mph. He ran a 7.09 60 yard dash. Shockley already shows good athletic ability with potential as a two-way prospect and made a strong case for himself in the 2017 MD rankings.
1.21.15 - Connor Shockley 2017 (Parkside HS) is a 6-foot 170-pound infielder. Good balance with good bat speed and quick hands. Simple load and attacked the baseball. Very projectable with athletic frame and strong. Did not see defensively.
