Maryland Top Prospect Games West

Body: 6’4’’, 190 pounds. Big, projectable frame with fairly proportional strength.
Arm: RH. C - 70 mph. Low ¾ release with quickness out in front, room to add strength as he keeps maturing
Defense: Pop times ranged 2.18 - 2.42. Got straight line in the footwork while slightly getting vertical up out of the crouch into a higher center of gravity. Presents a big target with adequate receiving skills showing solid glove hand traits. Average flexibility overall working out of traditional mainly.
Run: 8.34 60-yard time.

Delivery: Quick pace on the mound with a short, front rocker step working into a medium leg lift with slight hip coil at the top. Average stride towards the dish and used mostly upper half post footstrike. Room to get more out of the lower half which will see velocity numbers continue rising. Repeatable delivery overall with good direction.
Arm Action: RH. High ¾ slot with slight downhill tilt on the release.
FB: T80 mph, 76-80 mph. Average spin rate of 1862 rpm per TrackMan. Sinker type movement with hard run on occasion.
CB: 65-66 mph. Average spin rate of 1717 rpm per TrackMan. Lands for occasional strikes when ahead; slow, gradual break at an 11/5 shape.
SL: 68-70 mph. Average spin rate of 1691 rpm per TrackMan. Developing feel for spin.
CH: 70-71 mph. Thrown around 8-10 mph off the FB with average sell.

3/21/21

Maryland Preseason All-State Session II

Body: 6’3’’, 190 pounds. Projectable backstop with strength throughout even proportions.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, even stance with a slight bend in the knees; the hands showed early at the shoulder and used a barrel tip for launch coupled with a controlled lift and replace stride; initiated the bat head through a quick, flat path with tight turns in the swing. Recorded a 50% fly ball rate with loft in the approach towards the LCF gap, generating a 300 foot peak batted ball distance. Feel for the levers and getting them to the front of the plate, handled pitches well in any quadrant during his batting practice round.
Power: 85 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Doubles power at the moment with significant burst through the hitting window, more power to come. 22 mph average hand speed (Blast Motion) plays vs. velocity.
Arm: RH. C - 71 mph. Fluid, whippy high ¾ slot with no restrictions; accurate on the bag.
Defense: Pop times ranged 2.03-2.18. Pre-catch rhythm present from a traditional setup, replaced the feet well getting the hips and shoulders towards the target in one motion, quick release with some arm strength will control the run game for years to come. Soft glove hand when receiving from a low right knee down position (hip mobility present).
Run: 7.78 60-yard time.

Delivery: Short side rocker stepping slight towards the plate before moving the right foot adjacent to the rubber entering the leg lift phase; medium leg lift with slight hip coil, hid the ball well. Whippy, high ¾ slot out front and finished in a moderate position out over the toes; adequate pace to the delivery.
Arm Action: RH. High ¾ slot good extension out in front.
FB: T81 mph, 78-80 mph. Average spin rate of 1990 rpm. Consistent arm side fade (15 inches of HM) via Trackman Baseball with ability to hold the arm side of the plate.
CB: 65-66 mph. Average spin rate of 1840 rpm. Big sweeper accruing up to 16 inches of bite across the plate. Slider look to it.
