Sebastian Nelson: 3B/C, (2023) Eaton Rapids, MI. 5-foot-11, 190-pound mature frame. Capable in the box, Nelson recorded an exit velocity of 84 mph. Begins in a balanced stance with a smooth load, then uses a controlled stride just before his swing. Bat speed is efficient, exhibits simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. In the round he found some barrels with loud contact. Up the middle approach. While catching, his best position velocity throwing to second was registered at 68 mph. Capable while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 70 mph; had sure hands, a fluid exchange and choppy rhythmic footwork. Had consistent pop times of 2.10-2.16.Showed a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot with some accuracy to the base. Clocked a time of 7.34 in the 60-yard dash.
Hitting : At the plates from a crouched stance showing hand motion prior to his load has a toe tap but load opening his front hip turning on the baseball. Showed raw power at the plate hitting to the pull side with authority.
Fielding :Takes a preparation step prior to working towards the baseball shows clean glove action as he works around the ball taking a step and throwing across the diamond.
Hitting: At the plate sets up with a slight closed stance with his bat over his back shoulder. Has a strong frame and makes hard contact. Up the middle and pull approach at the plate. Shows raw power while hitting.
