Markert is a lean and athletic 5-foot-9, 160-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class. Washburn University (Topeka) commit. At the event he ran a 6.96 second 60 and posted an exit velocity of 91 mph, both improvements from his previous event. At the plate, Markert starts in an athletic stance, simple load with quiet hands, stride is slightly closed off, flat bat path, controls the barrel, produced middle and opposite field contact during round. Defensively, good actions in the outfield, fluid footwork, clean exchanges, high three-quarter release, strong arm with carry, positional velo of 90 mph, accurate throws.

Hit: RHH. Open setup, stride works short and gets back to square.  Athletic, quick hands, controls the barrel, stays short to the ball and made a lot of hard gap-to-gap contact.
Power: 88 mph exit velocity from the tee. Sneaky pop off the bat.
Arm: RH. OF - 86 mph. Loose, quick arm action, high 3/4 slot and throws play accurate and with carry.
Defense: Athletic defender, natural in the outfield, fluid footwork, sure-hands and plays through the baseball.
Run: 7.16 runner in the 60.

He ran a 7.04 60 and posted an exit velocity of 86 mph.  Impressed at the plate, open set up, explosive lower half, fast bat speed, level bat path, gap to gap approach. Markert was clean and impressive on the infield as well, soft hands, quick and fluid feet, quick and clean exchange, athletic and plays through the ball, long arm action, high 3/4 arm slot, throws up to 82 mph.

10/20/18 – Markert is an athletic 5-foot-9, 160-pound, middle infield prospect in Missouri’s 2021 recruiting class. He ran a 7.04 second 60 and a 4.32 home-to-first. At the plate, 86 mph exit velocity, open stance to start, simple load, good separation and rhythm with hands, very quick hands, showed feel for the barrel, extension through the baseball, ball jumps of bat, gap-to-gap approach, showed hard line drive contact during batting practice. Defensively, Markert showed good actions on the infield, quick to the baseball, momentum towards target, three-quarter release, clean quick arm action, throws have carry, positional velocity of 77 mph, mostly accurate throws.

6/12/18 - Markert is a 5-foot-9 150-pound switch hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2021 class.  He ran a 7.37 60 and a 4.78 home to first.  He has an 84 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall and open stance, holding hands low, in line stride with hands walking away from stride, aggressive and level swing path, mostly middle of the field contact.  On the infield, 76 mph positional velocity, over the top arm slot, long take away, quick to the ball with footwork, body stays under control, accurate throws, clean exchange, quick actions.

2/10/18 - Markert is a 5-foot9 145-pound switch hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2021 class.  He ran a 7.20 60 and has an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, quiet hands with minimal rhythm, smooth load in lower half, closes off during stride, hard solid consistent contact during hitting evals, middle to pull side.  On the infield, 76 mph positional velocity, quick catch and throw, high three quarters arm slot, athletic, accurate thrower, feet are quick to the ball and create momentum to throw.
