Joey Funk: OF/LHP, (2022) Vianney, MO. 6-foot, 165-pound slim frame. In the box, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 76 mph. Begins in a tall stance with a small load, then uses a short stride just before his swing. Bat speed is average, uses short swing plane and high finish. Through his round he found multiple barrels. Line drive approach. Fluid from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 74 mph; had smooth footwork, soft hands and a clean exchange. Showed consistent accuracy to the bag with a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. Recorded a time of 7.4 in the 60-yard dash.

2/19/18 - Funk is a 5-foot-11 145-pound left-handed hitting outfielder and left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2022 class.  He ran a 4.50 home to first and has a 76 mph exit velocity. At the plate, wide set up in base, quick tempo in leg lift, in line stride, hands control the bat, mostly middle to pull side contact during hitting evals, high finish in hands.  In the outfield, high three quarters arm slot, quick to the ball with footwork, works behind and through the catch with momentum, fluid transfers on time with footwork, crow hop, 74 mph positional velo, lean frame with room to add strength to already clean arm action. On the mound, Funk has a high three quarters arm slot, keeps hands high in delivery, deliberate and controlled leg lift, in line stride, simple and repeatable delivery, stride is slightly closed, fastball works at 67-72 mph, some work on a downhill plane, change up at 58-61 mph, has some cutting action across the strike zone, throws with fastball arm speed, young arm still developing, build is long and lean with upside.
