Kaleb Lipscomb: Madison Ridgeland High School, Class of 2023; 5-foot-8, 160-pound athletic frame; SS/C. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 78 mph. Starts in athletic stance with a smooth load, then uses a short stride to start his swing. Displays an upward swing plane and rapid bat speed, and he ends his swing with a high finish. Path displayed a line drive approach. In the infield, showed an ability to throw across the field at 70 mph; his exchange was clean and his feet were quick. Showing consistent accuracy to the bases, he used an-over-the-top slot and a short arm action. He recorded a 60 time of 7.25 at the event.
Footwork is the key for Kaleb as it leads to highly projectable skills both behind the dish and on the infield. He is silky smooth and will continue to become a next level defender. His athleticism and ability in the field translate to a solid approach at the plate that will continue to develop.
