Gardner-Webb commit.  6 foot 1, 195-pound athletic, projectable build.  Loose, smooth swing from the left side stands out.  Sets up tall and balanced with a fluid load, using a toe tap.  Keeps his barrel in the zone, with loose hands and advanced barrel awareness.  Centered a lot of balls, working gap to gap.  Exit velocity recorded at 90 mph.  Athletic behind the plate, with hands working to receive quality arms.  Accurate arm to second base with quick feet and a short arm action, throwing from an over the top slot.  Pop times ranged from 1.94-1.97 with positional velocity topping at 78 mph from a crouch position.  Recorded a 4.14 in the 30-yard dash.

Exit velocity of 90 mph off the barrel.  Left handed hitter is tall and balanced. Loose with feel for the barrel and quickness. Ball jumps off the barrel.  Toe tap load and average stride length. Works for extension and has a slight pull tendency. Some stiffness in his setup behind the plate.  Average hands received arms well at the showcase. Aggressive demeanor and feet on throws working to gain ground. Above average carry with a positional velocity of 78 mph out of the crouch.  Pop times ranged 2.00-2.08 in the workout with accuracy to the bag. Strength exists in a 6-foot-1, 165 pound frame.  Ran a 7.28 sixty with a good burst off the line.  Pop times of 2.00-2.15 with advanced accuracy.  Fluid feet and a quick, clean exchange work to a short, over-the-top slot with carry.  From the crouch, measured 75 mph out of the hand.  Left handed hitter is balanced, using a leg kick to load.  Lacks a big weight shift from the 50/50 balance in his setup.  Simple swing begins with a short stride, producing at least average bat speed.  Works level through the zone, looking for extension.  Average barrel awareness.  Lacks some leverage in the back side at this time and could lead to big jumps soon.  Exit velocity peaked at 84 off the barrel.

08.10.17

Strength exists in an average 6-foot-1, 180 pound frame.  Pop times ranged 2.06 – 2.07.  Sits a little high in stance, presenting a decent target.  Hands exchange around the belt, in front of the body, loading the arm in a short fashion and working to a high-3/4 slot.  Accuracy and carry exists.  Tends to fall forward blocking, onto his hands but the desire to block exists.  Worked for his pitchers in game situations.  Easy to dream about projection with the frame and athleticism that is present.  Threw from the outfield, touching 75 while showing accuracy.  Left handed hitter has average bat speed with an ease in his swing that catches the eye.  Balanced, lacking a major load, uses a short stride.  Strength in the hands.  Gets to the front side, wanting extension, working the pull side throughout BP.  Leverage through the ball.  Average barrel awareness.  Exit velocity of 82.  Ran a 7.51 sixty.
