2021 MLB DraftArmed with a fastball that plays well above its 92-94 velocity, the 5-foot-11, 210-pound Kerry worked mostly out of a relief role, making just three starts while logging 54.1 innings and striking out 84 to just 10 walks. He pairs his deceptive heater with an above average 84-87 mph slider and relentlessly attacks the zone.

3/21/21

Armed with a fastball that played well above its 92-94 mph velocity, the 5-foot-11, 210-pound Kerry led the South Carolina comeback on Sunday with 5.2 innings of scoreless relief. He paired his deceptive heater with an above average 84-87 mph slider and relentlessly attacked the zone, striking out ten in the process.

04.14.17
South Carolina commit.  Fastball is continuing to improve, sitting 88-90 and touching 91.  Carried 88-89, still touching 91 in the sixth.  Curveball shape has become consistent, ranging 71-74 with a hard 11/4 action.  Shape of the curveball allows the ability to pitch off of elevated fastball at times.  Curveball showed an ability to get swing and miss.  Kerry used as a put away pitch throughout the outing.

03.08.17
South Carolina commit with advanced command of the fastball.  Clean, easy delivery that is repeated throughout.  Arm works with an easy stroke to a high-3/4 slot, excellent head posture.  Mature build in the lower half helps to create a very directional delivery.  Fastball ranged 84-86, touching 87 throughout.  Seemed to have the ability to get extra and still locate, when needed.  Moved the fastball in, out, up, and down.  Featured a curveball 71-73, for a strike with a consistent arc.  Threw the breaking ball for strikes, flashing the ability to move it around as well.  Was able to sharpen the pitch in put away situations.  11/5 break, a little early, with a small hump out of the hand.  In 5 innings, threw 86 pitches, struck out 10, working with efficiency throwing 16-20 first pitch strikes and an overall strike percentage of 74%.

01.28.17
South Carolina commit stands 6-foot, 185 pounds.  Easy effort, working into his spring with a relaxed nature in the bullpen.  Fastball ranged 83-85, ramping up to 88 towards the end of the outing, with ease.  Easy arm works to a high-3/4 slot.   Repeatable with easy effort and great direction.  Curveball comes out easy flashing late 10/4 action, ranging 68-69.  Change flashed at least average with slight arm-side run at 77-78.  Flooded the zone with all three throughout the bullpen.  Advanced fastball command.

Right handed hitter works with a vertical bat and tall stance.  Short stride leads to a slightly uphill path with a tendency to stay pull side.  Strength over quickness in the swing.  Registered an exit velocity of 90mph.  Easy actions on the infield, limiting unwanted movement.  Tends to catch balls on the right side of the body, working to funnel to the right hip.  Arm works with ease and carry, showing well above average accuracy.  Measured at 84 across the infield, there is more if needed.

10.10.16
Utilizes a simple motion with a slight pause at the top of his leg lift to generate power down and out.  Fastball comfortably sits 86-88 and touches 89.  Short arm stroke reminiscent of a catcher producing fastballs that jump on hitters appearing to pick up speed at the plate.  Slider flashes sign of being a hard, multi-planed out pitch in the future.  Strike thrower with excellent command of his fastball.

07.02.16 - Kerry shows an advanced feel for pitching, especially off of his fastball.  The 6 foot, 185 pound right hander sat 85-86 and touched 87 with command of the fastball to both sides of the plate.  A high-3/4 slot comes from a stable head and slight coil in the upper half at balance.  Change and curve ball also flooded the zone.  The beaker produced a slow sweep at 70-71.
