5-foot-11 155 Dylan has a lean, slender frame that looks to have room to grow into as becomes more physical with age. Dylan possesses good receiving ability showing easy hand and framing skills. Set up is good presenting a good low target for the pitcher. Arm strength was adequate as he showed a short arm action with quick feet and a 1.94-2.07 pop time. Dylan moved well in blocking with mobility to move side to side.
At the plate, Dylan has a good set up and showed raw power during BP.

Evenly proportioned, 5-foot-10 155, Dirig’s future is going to be behind the plate. He shows both the durability and arm strength for the position with solid receiving instincts. He is a capable block and recovery backstop who will continue to develop with work. Dirig made consistent quality contact to the pull side during batting practice. He preloads on his backside with a consistent degree of uphill plane to his swing with a tendency to spin a bit on his front heel. It is a strength over bat speed design which may result in pull side power down the line.
On the mound, Dirig throws from a high ¾ slot with solid zone feel of 3 pitches. His fastball was up to 82, but arm action and effort lend more to bullpen type arm. He pre-grips the breaking, allowing for spin and depth but lacks deception. He has feel for a changeup, 71-72. Dirig is a capable strike thrower with an ability to throw some innings presently but belongs behind the plate on a permanent basis to realize his ceiling.
5/19/19
Wiry, 5-foot-10 155, Dirig has some utility on the field, but his actions and future appear to be behind the plate. He throws from a high ¾ slot with a shot tight arm swing that provides true and accurate throws. Strength and development will add to arm strength, creating a natural progression in lowering pop times. In the box, he maintains a backside power type approach, releasing his top hand on contact. Present contact leads to gap type power but weight and strength gains could provide future power potential.
Dirig throws from a high ¾ slot with solid zone feel. His fastball topped out at 78 with area control. He displays solid shape and feel in a 67-68 breaking ball. The low 70s changeup demonstrates that there is a higher ceiling in the fastball. The upright delivery and short tight arm action lends likely to future a relief role but his skill will play better behind the plate down the road.
11/14/18-Projectable, 5-foot-10, 150, Dirig has an athletic build with room to add weight and strength. Although he maintains the athleticism to play multiple positions, he profiles best behind the dish. He sits well and displays soft hands with instincts for the catching position. He has benefited from catching some high end velocity high school arms and is easy to see as a Division 1 receiver in the future. He has some low-end value as a fill in corner infielder with capable actions. With a wide stance and no stride, Dirig hits off his backside with a slight uphill plane. Their strength in his barrel and a feel for consistent quality contact. On the mound, Dirig’s delivery his unrefined and will need work to be a consistent performer on the mound. He has a short tight arm circle from a high ¾ slot with solid arm speed on all his pitches. His arm strength and ability to throw strikes will allow him to compete. Dirig shows the makings of a future slider and feel for a changeup.
2/10/19 - Lean, 5-foot-10, 150, Dirig has a developing frame that has already seen weight and strength improvements since Fall Scout Day. This improvement can be seen almost across the board in all his metrics, 60-time, positional velocity, pop times and exit velocity. Dirig catches an accomplished staff and has seen increased time behind the dish this winter. His receiving skills and transition to throw have improved as well as blocking instincts. At the plate, he utilizes a no stride approach with a heel up, heel down trigger. He maintains a down to level swing with strength in his barrel, making solid contact. Dirig has made big strides in a short period of time and is quickly becoming a force behind the plate.
He throws from a high ¾ slot with short, “catcher” type arm action. With work there is likely more extension to be had, thus velocity. His fastball was up to 78, pitching 76-77. Curveball and changeup were both consistently 66. The curveball has nice down action. He maintains consistent arm speed with an upright delivery and short stride. He loads his bottom half well and delivery stability has improved in just a few short months. His arm action lends to relief type role and it is easy to see him topping out in the upper 80s down the road. His future is likely behind the plate, but he will most definitely see time on the mound in the coming years.
