6/28/21

Physical: Strong, durable 5-foot-11, 180lb frame with even proportions. 7.58 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Wide, even stance with a slight bend in the knees as the barrel rests on the shoulder. Utilized a barrel tip on time with a toe tap stride, staying on the backside when initiating the swing through a direct, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Created good lift on the baseball, consistently finding favorable contact points on the middle-inner half of the plate. Produced a 320 foot batted ball distance (via Trackman) and added a mostly pull-side approach, notching an 89 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak. Doubles power and some middle of the order considerations as he matures.

Defensively: The primary outfielder stayed behind the baseball with good reads and a moderate postured approach at the fielding window. Bent at the waist with a soft glove hand fielding off the right side of his body. Clean exchanges on time towards an accurate, short ¾ slot at release (75 mph, accurate, slight arm-side run) pointing towards left field projection. Then slid over to the infield, manning first base with some lateral quickness and feel for the glove hand operating low to the ground. Smooth pace and got the shoulders in-line before the trigger at ¾ up to 76 mph across the diamond.

Pitching: LHP - Started off the middle of the rubber from a wide position; side rocker and hands over the head in rhythm, holding pace until a high balanced stack, pausing at the bottom before driving out into footstrike at a connected move (H ¾). The FB ranged from 72-74 mph with low intent, showing arm-side run and low spin creating slight sink action at times. Mixed a slower 59-61 mph CB with depth and loopy shape (1/7 tilt), adding a harder thrown 60-61 mph SL featuring occasional short sweep across the plate.

7/30/20

Physical: Lean / athletic 6-foot, 160-pound frame with projectability throughout and room to add size / strength as he matures. 7.87 runner in the 60-yard dash with long strides. Offensively: RHH. Crouched, rhythmic setup with the hands showing quick actions pre load at the shoulder. Utilized above average pace in a toe tap stride to initiate the hands through a flat path with a short time to contact. Demonstrated weight shift to the front side on occasion yielding more line drive / ground ball contact to the pull-side, but when he stayed back saw the ball elevate over the outfielders heads. Solid usage of the lower half and got to a power position at contact creating leverage, recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 85 mph according to Trackman Baseball / a 21.80 mph maximum hand speed per Blast Motion was more than impressive. Defensively: The primary outfielder demonstrated lenghty actions with slow pace during defensive evaluations, fielded the ball off of the right side of his body with a soft glove hand, showed a medium-high center of gravity throughout the movements. Accurate, high ¾ arm-slot on the release on throws towards the target. OF - 68 mph
