7/24/19

6-foot-0, 170 pound well built body  with broad shoulders. Powerful left-handed hitter, he showed raw strength with clocking an exit velocity at 86 mph. Starts slightly open with a long stride. He clears his hips a bit early, but has plus bat speed and impact with a two-handed strong finish. In the field, he is an athlete.  He has a whippy arm action and gets himself in the right position to make steady on point throws up to 79 mph. Off the mound, he has a high ¾ arm action with a quick tempo motion. He can get his fastball up to 80 mph with a curveball at 72 mph and a changeup at 74 mph. He showed a good spinner that could be a swing and miss pitch. Shows to have some arm strength, repeats the delivery and finishes all pitches off using the entire body.  He’s a middle of the order type of player that can bring value to a team.

An athletic build at 6-feet-0 tall, 170 pounds. Ran a 7.56 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- Stands in the box with a slight bend in the knees. Starts with his hands back already in a lower position. Shows a quick direct path to the baseball. Has a slight lift at the point of contact. Gets full extension after the point of contact. Top exit velocity was 84 MPH. Defensively-  Sits back when fielding the baseball. Shows smooth funnel actions. An above average exchange. Throws from a mid ¾ arm slot on throws across the diamond. Top throwing velocity was 81 MPH. Pitching- Displayed a repeatable delivery and a projectable live arm. Works mainly from the right side of the rubber. Takes his time to gather himself into a balanced backside. Uses a slight glove tap for timing. FB has some downward action. CB has tight late spin. Showed good FB command that ranged from 77-79 MPH and peaked at 79 MPH. CB  has a tight spin and ranged from 62-64 MPH. Showed feel for a CH at 68-70 MPH. The 2020 C/1B is a must follow.

Offensively- stands in the box. Tall stance. Feet shoulder width apart. Short load. Takes short stride towards the pitcher. A direct path towards baseball. Great use of lower half. Full extension violent finish. Stays balanced throughout the swing. Displayed pull side pop. Projected exit velocity 80 MPH. Defensively-aggressive to the baseball. Under control. Smooth exchange to three-quarter arm action. Smooth footwork around the bag. Top throwing velocity 83 MPH. Pitching- displayed repeatable delivery. Throws with tempo. High knee lift. Smooth hand separation. Keeps the front side closed. Worked downhill on a plane. Good finishing position. Had a 4 pitch mix. Fastball peaked at 80 MPH. Curveball tight early spin 66-68 MPH. Showed feel for Changeup 61-63 MPH. Threw Knuckleball 64-66 MPH. The 2020 pitcher is projectile with some strengthening and development measurables should increase.

5-foot-11, 165-pounds with a lean build. 81 mph arm strength, with a loose and long arm action. Even stance at the plate, with slight closed off toe tap. Above average pull side power. Long swing path with a high finish. 84 mph bat speed. Hard double down the line to deep RF in the 8th @ UE.

Medium sized frame. Good body control with quick actions to his delivery. Arm action is quick and aggressive as he finishes his pitch. 3/4 release point creates good run and life on his FB. Mixes in a solid CB and CH. 3 pitch mix should develop and improve as he gets stronger. Shows a good feel for pitching.

Preseason - East (February 22, 2018)

Lean, wiry frame at 5-foot-11 165 pounds. The LHH 1B/P ran a 4.73 home-to-1B. Offensively- Even setup; hangs front foot during stride. Lands soft and stays behind the ball; spins through contact with aggressive lower half. Can find the gaps to his pull side. Repeatable efforts with and exit velocity of 82 MPH. Defensively- Agile defender; gets off the bag quickly while staying in motion into his throws. Short quick release with some arm strength that would also play in the outfield at 80 MPHPitching- Works center rubber; drop step back to a belt high/mid-chest balance point. Stays loaded over backside while harnessing momentum to the plate. Long arm action from a 3/4 slot. FB sat 77-78 MPH; big over-the-top breaking ball at 61-63 MPH. Showed a change at 70-71 MPH. 2020 grad with dual position potential.

6/6/2018:
Osborn ran a 7.58-60.  Arm strength measured at 79-MPH from the outfield.  Fastball ranging from 76-77-MPH with a change at 68-MPH and a curve at 63-MPH.
