May 2018
Wiry frame with strength and athleticism oozing from his 6-foot-0 frame. During the game Limoncelli showed premium arm-speed on both his fastball and curveball. The fastball sat 87-89 (peaking 91 MPH) with arm-side run at times. His curveball is devastating, sitting 77-78 with late tight shape, a pitch he shows a high level of confidence with.

PBR Futures Games (August 4-6)
2019 RHP Michael Limoncelli (Horseheads HS) (committed today to Pittsburgh) started Game One at 9:00 am going two-solid innings off work. The rising sophomore, who's body is lean and athletic, standing 6-foot-0, 165-pounds, shows above average arm strength with a fastball sitting 85-87 (seen up to 89 recently) with some arm-side run. Maybe even more impressive, Limoncelli's curveball showed high-level shape and bite, sitting 72-76 with several swing-and-misses. Although his command was a little off today, he battled for a player his age showing some toughness.
Limoncelli is a very projectable 6-foot-1 160-pounds with long wiry limbs and a lightning quick arm. Pittsburgh commit. Ran a 7.04 60. Offensively- switch hitter. Right side is very controlled with a small leg lift and small hand load. Quick hands and reactions help him generate power. Left side is much of the same. Small leg lift but relatively stagnant hands. Effortless and athletic follow through with a feel for the barrel. More gap to gap from the left side. Defensively- quick hands and smooth exchange, throws were 89 mph across the infield, one of the highest of the entire event.
New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Limoncelli stands 6-foot-1, 160-pounds with a super lean wiry frame. Ran a personal best 7.0 60; displaying athleticism. Offensively- Switch hitter who displays above average power from both sides for his age. Longer stride for timing, path is a touch long, plane has some incline/lift through contact. Full finish with good bat-speed, more control and confidence from the left-side. Exit velocity was an impressive 91 mph.(+6 MPH from Aug. 2015) Defensively- Uses an active lower half, loose smooth actions before the ball gets to him, fields out in front of body with a clean transfer. Well above average arm strength at 89 mph (+4 MPH from Aug. 2015) from a loose quick hand. Pitching- Extremely projectable but already a premium arm. Lean build with a simple delivery, arm works super quick, topped a 90 in warm-ups before settling in around 87-88 mostly. Some inconsistency with release point but expected for his age. Shows the ability to really spin the baseball creating sharp shape to his curveball. A member of team NY in the Future games, Limoncelli has a real chance of being a special player.

Border Battle (October 18, 2015)
Limoncelli's game continues to improve each time we see. As the youngest player at this event he showed no fear of the big stage. Offensively- Michael hits from an even stance with a shift of weight back during his load and stride. Gets separation and maintains a 45 degree bat angle. Explosive lower half and balances his weight transfer out well. Can really get through the ball. Ahead of the curve as an offensive player. Defensively- Fundamental approach with footwork, allowing for breakdown steps to help him maintain his pace into the ball. Stays out in front with glove, quick with transfer. Has a little bit of a skip step/crowhop at times with his throwing footwork that may limit his ability to get the ball out quicker.
WNY All-Star Games (August 27, 2015)
Stands at 5-foot-11, 150-pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 4.50 Home to 1st from the left-hand side.  Michael is a very talented young player, he plays way beyond his age.  The future is bright for this player as long as his work ethic reflects his talents. Defensively- He has a smooth approach through the ball, with smooth, soft, quick hands, throws with a clean loose action, arm is very strong across the diamond, plays through the ball nicely, with lots of range, and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was at 85 MPH. Offensively- At the plate his setup is relaxed and very balanced, short leg kick stride, with a smooth load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on a level plane with long/full extension through the ball, with an athletic balance throughout the whole swing.  He shows a lot of life in his bat with power.  His exit velocity was 87 MPH.

Southern Tier Open (August 5, 2015)
Stands at 5’11”, 150 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 7.25 60 yard dash. Defensively- He has a smooth approach through the ball, with smooth, soft, quick hands, throws with a clean loose action, arm is very strong across the diamond, plays through the ball nicely, with lots of range, and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was at 81 MPH. Offensively- At the plate his setup is relaxed and very balanced, short leg kick stride, with a smooth load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on a level plane with long/full extension through the ball, with an athletic balance throughout the whole swing.  He shows a lot of life in his bat.  His exit velocity was 85 MPH.
