Solid in the outfield, his best throw of the day was clocked at 83 mph; had a clean exchange, soft hands, and consistent footwork. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Had a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.22.

Hit: Explosive bat from the left side. Fluid mover that remains balanced throughout stroke. Tools are advanced. Uber physical with 85mph bat speed according to blast. Some of the highest bat speed readings we've had all summer. Power: Ball flies. Offensive Projection: Run producer. Max BP Exit Velocity: 96 mph Max BP Distance: 370 ft Field: In the outfield he plays with smooth, controlled tempo throughout. Ball skills are there. Also worked out at first base where he has a chance to be a well above average defender. Corner skill set. Throw: Clean arm with more to come. Defensive Projection: Corner Outfield.

2/9/20 Position Player Hit: At the plate Gilkerson showed a balanced stroke with pull tendencies. Showed some natural lift to his swing with good bat speed. Good bat to ball abilities. Power: 92 mph exit velocity. Offensive Projection: Raw physical tools are obvious difference makers for his age. Should eventually develop into a legitimate power threat. Field: In the outfield he shows smooth actions and good rhythm. Not over aggressively to the ball but played through it well and showed good carry on throws. Throw: 78 mph from the outfield. Defensive Projection: TBD
6/12/19
Body Type: 6-foot-1, 190-pound uber physical. Swing Mechanics: Left-handed hitter that starts in an open setup. Load is fluid and athletic. Hit: As physical of a bat as you’ll find in his class. Strength and athleticism are through the roof. Ball absolutely flies off his bat. Doesn’t look like a typical ‘23 swinging the bat. Power: Top raw power we’ve seen in the state at this age group. Up to 96 mph off the bat according to rapsodo and lift the ball naturally. Offensive Projection: Run Producer. Field: Very athletic for how physical he is. Moves well in the outfield with feel and mechanically sound feet. Throw: Clean arm that will continue to see easy velocity gains as physical maturation takes its course. Defensive Projection: Corner Outfield
Body Type: 5-foot-11, 160-pound physical frame. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Works exclusively from the stretch. Athleticism shows out there in lower half. Stays contacted to the well and is really able to get into that front hip at release. ¾ slot that creates some deception. Fastball: 73-77 mph. Filled it up with the fastball. Gets behind the ball well, average spin rate guy. Mid 90s spin efficiency. Curveball: 61-64 mph. Slows are a bit on the offering. 1/7 big shape. Looks comfortable with the offering. Pitchability: Was in the zone for the most part.
3/03/19
Body Type: 6-foot-1, 190-pounds with strong physical build Mechanical/Delivery Notes: The LHP is upper body dominate. Has a lively arm with loose ¾ slot. Has good tempo on the mound and has an easy delivery that he is explosive out of. Fastball: FB is hard and heavy (74-78) Curveball: CB has slow gradual 1/7 break (56-61) Changeup: CH has slow downward movement (62) Slider: SLD is developing with 2/8 break (59-60) Pitchability: Advanced 3 pitch mix for his age with a fourth pitch developing, has plus control and location of pitches Role: Starter Additional Comments: Cameron is a guy to follow as he matures. He already has plus arm strength and command on the mound. Velocity will increase when he learns to drive off his back side Hit: Starts with an open stance. Has a high leg kick with good hands to shoulder separation in his load. Has good weight transitions and natural loft. Sprays to all sides of field. Has good bat control and speed. He has a physical presence in box. A potential dual guy that will be a definite follow in the future. Power: Natural loft and power already in his bat with plus pop and authority through the zone Offensive Projections: Top to middle, run producer (88 exit velocity) Run: 7.67 (60-yard dash) Field: From OF, he has above average arm strength that is lively and has carry. He has advanced footwork and mechanics when setting up and fielding the ball. He plays behind the ball and follows through his throws Defensive Projection: OF

Cam Gilkerson is a guy who stood out at the plate. The LHH has some of, if not the most raw power we’ve seen in his class. Hard to believe his age when you watch the ball off the bat. Multi hit day highlighted by an oppo double off the top of the wall. Present ability to leave the yard to all fields. Also is a versatile defender that can play first base or a corner spot in the outfield.
